The Halfway House Bar Restaurant

I took my Wife for dinner at Laurels on 28th June 2023 as it looked very nice on their website. Sadly there were a number of items in the menu that were not available. The waiter was very good but the food however was not. The scallops were overcooked. The Hake Dish was also over cooked and these dishes were tasteless. My Wife had the meatballs as a starter and the salmon for a main and again both the dishes were tasteless and there was no hint of seasoning. Overall the terrace is very nicely laid out and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Sadly we will not be returning.

Not the same as it used to be! Lacks finesse, no tablecloths or mats. We had the €18 Saturday menu , not a lot of choice. We had ham croquettes for starters, and pork chops with mushroom sauce. The portions are large and a bit overcooked, but the mushroom sauce was nice. Definitely room for improvement Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
