What a much needed breath of culinary fresh air in the 'burbs! Hatters is innovative, creative and above all delicious. The chefs transform the humble smashed avo into a multifaceted work of art, the sou-vied duck is sublime and the cured salmon melts in your mouth. Porridge is a magical journey down the rabbit-hole at Hatters and their sour-dough is pure alchemy. And I haven't even begun to talk about their cakes. Multi-layered gems the cakes glisten on the counter saying 'eat me' ! Not overly sweet and very complex the variety of cakes is seemingly endless. With fabulous coffee (try a turmeric latte for something different) and snappy service the Hatter and the Hare is a must for any self-...

I wasn't sure what to expect but various people have spoken very highly of The Hatter And The Hare so I thought I'd try it when meet g up with a friend. They only take bookings during the week, I'm glad I made one as it was certainly busy at 10.30 but by 12 it was even busier. Parking is not great, provision for only about six cars but you can park in the car park over the road. Interesting choices on the menu Food was delicious. It was funny watching other patrons observe what others were eating. Lovely selection of cakes whereby you can watch them being prepared. Great choice of gluten free cakes too. Service was great and very helpful. Toilets modern and clean.

Had breakfast here on Wednesday. We couldn't believe how busy it was. Service was fast and friendly and the waitresses knew the menu too! I ordered the 'curiouser and curiouser avo' which was delicious. It was smashed avacado on multigrain toast with feta, dukkah, pomegranate and fresh mint. A very substantial meal. Our coffees were hot and delivered quickly after ordering. A great atmosphere and lovely decor. We're going back next week for coffee and cake. The cakes look awesome and all made in house. The only downfall is having to park across the road at the Bayswater hotel then cross over a busy Scoresby road.

Order simple scrambled eggs with hash brown and hubby ordered poached eggs. There was a slight issue with my eggs but was sorted out straight away and the owner even came out from the kitchen later to see if things were ok- was really impressed with this touch! The has brown has a seeded mustard through it and it was so delicious!!And the bacon was a thick cut- simple yet delicious!! Will definitely be back! Réservez une table maintenant

This is a very busy cafe food is great, service also great and coffee was good an interestng menu selection, desserts and cakes ceratiny were appealing found it a bit expensive. The downside is its very popular so can be hard to get a table also limited parking you can park opposite the cafe at the hotel but its dangerous trying to cross scoresby road to get to the cafe.

The Hatter and the Hare is an incredible restaurant. I had no idea it existed until I happened to drive past. While crowded and busy, the staff are top notch, the food is great and the baked treats are the most amazing I have ever seen. You can watch the sweets being made while you eat. One of the muesli dishes is served on a plate of dry ice. It's ridiculous.

Arrived on a Sunday morning without a booking and it's popularity was evident. After waiting 15 minutes we were seated outside under the heater (thank god).. coffee was good, breakfast was delicious. The service team were competent and appeared unrattled by the volume of customers. A nice suburban surprise

A well located restaurant in the outer east. Excellent menu. We tried 3 dishes, all of which were excellent. Young children are well looked after, hence the many new mums enjoying a midweek brunch. Parking is tricky, so use the hotel car park across the road. Overall a pleasant family meal. Recommended. Réservez une table maintenant

Very busy place but great service. Food was good but a little pricey. But onlyva little. The pastries are made on site and of a very good standard. The Pain Raisin was one of the best in Melbourne. Crunchy and soft, buttery and succulent raisins. Could have been baked in France.
