Always packed out on weekends so I thought the food would be better, not as good as it was 2 years ago. £23 for a cod loin with seafood stew turned out to be mainly potatoes, I dont eat or like potatoes so a waste of money for a disappointing plate of food. My friend had the salmon with lentils and veg, looked nice but there were so many lentils she left most of them. Bulking out a dish with the cheapest ingredient seems to be the thing now days, typical of British pubs I suppose but charging as much as possible. Staff were friendly as always but seems to be better to order basic things like the steak Baguette or snack bits here. Best for drinks as super dog friendly and a nice place to hide...
We made an impromptu visit on Mother's Day and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Parking was a breeze. We only tried the desserts, but they were delightful. Since we were dining outdoors, the heated blankets were a great addition, especially as the weather turned cool after two weeks of early summer sunshine. I would definitely recommend a visit!
Best sticky toffee pudding—always delicious and even gluten-free! I'm a very happy customer! The staff is great, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is friendly. We've been here about four times, and my partner orders the fish and chips every time because he says it’s the best he’s ever had. I tried the gluten-free fish fingers, and they were also delicious!
Overall, a great experience. It was a lovely day, and we could have enjoyed sitting outside if my niece had bothered to check the weather and hadn’t opted for a heavy winter outfit.
