The Hens And Chicken Theatre

We use to be regulars but for the past couple of years it went a bit downhill. Now it has become our local once again. Lukas has done an amazing job and turned this place around with efficient staff and personalities to match. I really can’t remember waiting any longer than one minute to be served, even with the theatre crowd. It really has got its vibe back and most of the time, has a great atmosphere. It is nice, early Sunday evenings, being quieter. We have noticed new regulars coming into the bar, which is great and haven’t seen that for quite a while. A testament to the way this bar is ran.

What is it about first impressions that tell you in five seconds if you will like a pub? Whatever it is, the Hen and Chicken has it in spades. It was toasty warm on a freezing night. The customers were from all age groups. Service was quick and with a genuine smile. When a glass fell and shattered, and nobody cheered, I knew I was in a classy place. Ten out of ten.

We came here for a couple of beers before going to the mini theatre on the first floor (accessed by steep steps no wheelchair access), and the London Pride was OK... but I've had better. There was a slight sourness to it. Not the best. There are plenty of gin cocktails on the cocktail list, and the place is very rainbow friendly. Nice buzz.

This one of my favourite pubs in the area great atmosphere, great pint of Guinness and Nadine and the rest of the staff are brilliant. It’s got a really authentic feel to it and attracts a nice and diverse crowd too.

Lovely pub with super nice, friendly staff!! Good music and atmosphere and a great place to come for match days!
