The Highwayman - Réservation de table

I chose The Highwayman restaurant with high hopes, only to be let down by the main dish. The steak was overcooked, the peppercorn sauce lacked any peppercorns and flavor. I had to request my chips, sauce, and a steak knife. When I voiced my concerns to the waiter, he was dismissive and avoided us for the rest of the evening. It seems like The Highwayman may be able to deliver good food when it's not too busy. The more crowded it gets, the lower the quality of the food and service.

A beautiful historic pub that has been well-maintained and updated. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We felt welcomed, even though we arrived on a bike. Definitely a bonus!

I want to thank everyone for the kind birthday messages. I was spoiled rotten. My favorite card was from my boys, who are a bit weird! We had an amazing meal at the Highwayman in Checkendon.
