The Hollybush - Réserver une table

My friend and fellow walker suggested this pub and we made a booking before going on our walk. We returned famished and both ordered scampi and chips in a basket. I expected to get a small wire basket with a few chips. However, this was not the case. There was quite a large portion. The chips were extremely hot and chunky. To my dismay I was unable to finish them. We ordered the brownie. Gordon the owner said we had made the best choice. Oh my gosh. It was heavenly. To die for. I am not normally a brownie lover but I'd had my fill of crumbles so decided to go for an alternative and so glad I did. It was quite a small pub but welcoming and nothing felt like too much trouble. Our chips and scampi with our pudding only cost £15 so it was a bargain. Sorry Gordon, my only gripe, and it's a personal choice, I really hate to be around animals when I am eating. However, I know that most places are advertising themselves as pet friendly now. It's just not for me. Other than that, great food and great personal service.

Absolutely loved our Sunday dinner, very welcoming a gr8 atmosphere. They fitted us in as we hadn't booked which was lovely. Our favourite pub. Cosy and warm with a real fire, delicious homemade food, great beer and friendly service. Good music too! This is a lovely, traditional pub in a gorgeous village. Gordon is an excellent host and we are only sorry that we were unable to enjoy the delicious food on offer. Next time as we will be back!!
