Our meal was fantastic. It is really lovely and nice setting. It is great that so much consideration for gluten free people. Most restaurants in ayrshire are limited and you have to pick from a few options but not here it was 90% accommodating to coeliac as it is fairly simple to accommodate to, people need to adapt to change in dietary requirements and educate yourself. Hollybush has and it was a great meal, great taste, portion, and welcoming/friendly staff. There was so many options we struggled to decide what to have and the GF sticky toffee pudding special receipe it was so tasty. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely terrible! Place was freezing had to ask for the heating to be turned on. Starter arrived had to wait for cutlery for 5 minutes before we could eat. Main meal.. daughters burger arrived no cheese or bacon as ordered asked for these when ordered came back with cheese no bacon had to send it back again.. meanwhile I’m sitting with my lunch no cutlery to eat whilst my husbands meal came it wasn’t what he ordered! So I’m sitting with my meal and can’t eat it as no cutlery my husband daughter have nothing! Bread roll was also not fresh that was served with soup!! Very disappointing won’t be back!
Warm welcome, Dog friendly, plenty of room between tables. 5* Pub Grub. We nipped in on way back from Loch Doon. Friendly staff, good selection on menu at reasonable prices. Portion size was generous, big fat Onion rings with a delicious mushroom on a bed of creamy Mash and great chips too. The steaks were juicy, tender and perfectly cooked. Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely restaurant. We will return.
Best food we have had in Scotland.The attention to detail in the food is outstanding. Talented Chef,very welcoming front of house, amazing views, spotless inside and out. A true gem. Feel like ordering every dish on the menu but we didn't even have room for dessert after the lovely mains. We ordered the smoked haddock and prawn gratin, and lamb rump- both cooked to perfection, savoury sauce to go with. And reasonable prices for the quality and portion.
