The Honey Bee - Réservation de table

We have been to the Honey Bee many times and although the service is usually slow, the food is okay and the dining room comfortable. We came as a party of 10 on Boxing Day, which was fine apart from the fact the chef didn't seem to know what bubble and squeek is. It is not mashed potato and separate greens. When I question it I was told it was bubble and squeak!! What a disaster it was last week the 18th Jan. Heating was broken so we ate in our coats. If we hadn't met friends there we would not have stayed. No mention of a discount or complimentary drink. The food was very good but sadly the service did not match it! There appeared to be only two speeds to the service; slow and slower. The staff were lovely and friendly, but at no point was an apology offered for the depressing wait between courses. Especially when we had to ask for the table to be cleared and for dessert menus at least 30 minutes after main courses were finished. We then had to wait a further 30+ minutes for 3 coffees, one mint tea and one desert. This would be ok if time didn’t matter, but, tbh, the staff appeared to be oblivious to the issues, which irritated me further. Won’t be going again that’s for sure!!

Apart from visiting as a couple, every six weeks or so, we meet up with friends..there is always a friendly welcome.. staff are helpful .. special shout out to out to Chef Jon and Alison who looked after us on 30/1/24.. we have been eating here as a group for several years months- the food portions are generous and reasonably priced as we always have the lunch menu of two or three courses.. we keep on returning..thank you all xx

Dined here quite a few times for various occasions and it’s always good…friendly staff, excellent food. Also, a big car park round the back. This week, I opted for starter/main from the fixed price 2-course lunch menu which, as always, was beautifully tasty and excellent value. (A 3-course option or dessert option also available). Would highly recommend. Also, there is now a loyalty scheme when you download the pub app. Réservez une table maintenant

Came here yesterday whilst staying in the area before an early flight. Sunday lunch was delicious only fault... not enough gravy but I suppose they would have served more if I asked. Husband had the signature burger, he said the burger was slightly overdone but the brisket was lovely. Would come here again and recommend if you're in the area

Very popular restaurant and we can now see why, absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch, Food delicious we had Roast Beef and Lamb Service excellent Shah Chef Al Atmosphere perfect For a packed restaurant surprisingly not too loud. Highly recommend and I look forward to next time

Belated Xmas lunch with my husband and a very good friend. They had the fishcakes and I had the premium sausages and mash. We all enjoyed our food drinks Diana was a very friendly and efficient server
