Was not to sure what to expect as the old Islander was renowned for schoolies and football clubs, as it is smack in the middle of Surfers. So what a pleasant surprise nicely renovated rooms, good split air cons, good TVs', brilliant bed... so comfy and 1 block from Cavill and the beach. And guess what no more scoolies or footy clubs so the place will stay in good condition. Great bar, and resto downstairs, good pool and ease of parking. Bathroom was really small and hard to navigate only complaint. Good WiFi connection as well free.
Staff in-experience. We reside in Gold Coast and had family visiting from Vancouver. They went here and inquired with staff if the food was Halal Certified. They said yes and when they received the burgers it had slices of Bacon in it. We were horrified...and embarassed to hear about their experience that either staff were just trying to get customers in at any cost or acting ignorant about Halal issues. Really not acceptable because you cannot play with anyones faith
3 days ago from the wa advised and had meals and drinks on all three days. today after ordering our meals and drinks, management sent a service person to advise that we were not welcome how my man had tattoos on his hands. we now advise all people we know not to go to their venue as they are prejudiced against people with tattoos. very disappointed and discouraged. by the way, my man is in his late 60s, what threat is he?
What an amazing job they have done with the Islander Resort revamp! I have been staying here for years and am In love with the new facilities. The rooms are beautiful, stylish and very spacious. The new rooftop bar is the IT place on the...GC and relaxing by the pool is as perfect as ever. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

book for a weekend and was beautifully surprised with the room. modern and comfortable renovated. I had everything I needed, except badges and home shoes. he room looked at the pool area and the dachbar, which was beautiful. a buffet breakfast does not include filtered. coffee, that is strange.
this place has great lunchtime at $12 mon-fri. we decided to sit on the pool, they have a beautiful covered area with tendons etc. it was really nice to relax there and eating was amazingly worth having something else! I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
I like what they've done with the place since the re furb, but I still think it needs more work and a new paint job because the pink makes it look tacky. Love the Island Rooftop Bar Really classy although it is on the expensive...side

The rooms are a bit outdated but for the price per night I couldn't really complain. Lots of backpackers staying here.
beautiful outdoor area with fantastic views of the beach. sitting is so comfortable, with many private areas too.
