Lovely restaurant and setting. Service was great although we sat down ordered our drink and food and I’d say the roast came out within 5 minutes maximum. I think this is just way too quick when you come with family or friends to enjoy a lunch. Made it feel like it was plated up waiting in the kitchen. Would suggest at least giving it 10/15 mins as it felt like they wanted to rush people out. Found out it was a bottomless roast for approx £19 which is really great. The beef was delicious as was the Yorkies veg. Potatoes were okay but not the best. The cauliflower cheese wasn’t very nice I actually didn’t eat it. A bit watery and bland. Lovely gravy. Overall nice and would come back x
Absolute delight! The squid starter completely exceeded our expectations, its was cooked to perfection and really well seasoned and the accompanying grilled veggie and salad 10/10. The roast cod curry was so delicious and beautifully presented. Service was fantastic, prompt and attentive. The food was also served in a good pace. The children menu was also lovely, the mezze starter is the best I've seen anywhere with the selection of guacamole, houmous and veggie sticks, my boy gave it a 10/10. Our allergies request was also accompdated. It was a great experience, the decor, cleanliness and service all spot on! Would definitely return and highly recommended!
As a party of 6 it is rare to find a venue where everyone leaves happy and satisfied with their meal but here we had a full house. The ambience is country pub which has been achieved by not overdoing the revamped decor. Service was prompt, friendly and professional. The menu offered a broad choice of dishes that ensured everyone (even vegetarians) had satisfactory options at each course. The food, when it arrived, pleased everyone in flavour and portion size. Overall a pleasurable experience all round. We all agreed a return visit was in order.
Had read all the good reviews so visited for lunch midweek, and am now adding another good review! Lovely atmosphere, charming dining room beside the cosy bar area and delightful staff. What more could you want? Well good food of course! And we enjoyed that too. A burger with a side of fries was our selection, followed by desserts that were interestingly mostly rated a vegetarian, and some vegan. This was rounded out with good coffee and conversation so all in all a lovely place to drop in to. Réservez une table maintenant
Lovely country pub. You can say a lot about a Sunday roast by how well they make Yorkshire puddings. And the Jolly Farmer have amazing Yorkshire puddings. Great value for money size of the dish was proportionate to the price. Child’s portion was really impressive not shy in any way. Quality of the food was amazing. Everything was fresh and the meat was cooked perfectly. Very polite and attentive service so defiantly one we’ll be going back to.
Amazing find. For mains we had the lamb, the pork and one Sunday roast (beef). All were outstanding. For dessert we had chocolate delice and the treacle tart. Everyone loved their food and would choose the exact same dishes again. Highly recommend and definitely will be returning
Had a great Easter lunch here! Service was incredibly friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We were with our three year old daughter and she especially loved the “make it yourself” pasta lunch on the Children’s menu and the drawing kit. We’ll definitely be back!
