The Jolly Miller Cafe Melton

The food is good and prices okay, but the service was a disaster.Melon pieces on floor,told staff twice,ignored, still there when we left. Brought our deserts (pancakes, berries and ice-cream) even before we had received all our main meal, so while eating we could watch the ice-cream melt? Had the waitress return the pancakes to the kitchen. When they back came again, it was obvious the pancakes had been placed in a microwave in attempt to keep warm. Instead they were cold, the sauce had dried and the ice-cream had disappeared, being replaced by "mascarpone". Filo pastry should not be microwaved We received a refund on the deserts, went to McDonalds for pancakes, where we found the staff pleasant,helpful and trained. Complained to the Jolly Miller, at the same time I'm very tired of going to retail establishments that do not train their staff.

I ordered the grilled chicken and pear salad. The chicken was covered in so much herbs that it was bitter to taste and the pieces were way overcooked. The pear was overpoached and had lost all its beautiful sweetness. It would have been better to either serve the pear fresh and thinly sliced or just lightly grilled to bring out its sweetness. The rocket (too much of it) was under dressed and the walnuts were not even toasted. Great concept for a light lunch but poor in its execution. Definitely underwhelming. Oh and I asked for some aioli on the side which I didn't get! I've had some delicious meals there but they are not consistent so it's potluck when going there as to whether it will be a hit or a miss. This one was a big fat miss

After the disappointment of my previous visit I decided to give them another try. This time I ordered the pulled pork sliders with house fries. Success!! It was a delicious lunch the fries were yummy, pulled pork tender and tasty and the brioche was perfect! And I got excellent and friendly service with a smile. Happy customer today!

Visited this place yesterday with friends for breakfast ordered Bircher Muesli it was cold dry with no milk hard to eat , had to ask for milk so I can eat it , my friends where happy with their choices the staff where friendly and willing to listen to your concerns

wow food ok but pricey to long to wait as can be overcrowded when you are served not smiles just take order and money please??? would not go back especially if you are on lunch break and stretched for time
