I gotta give 5 stars just to reward the quality of service we experienced recently.We went to celebrate a family birthday. Not only were they super accommodating of severe allergies, our server also went above and beyond to make sure our toddler was happy. He brought her a little plate with some crackers, orange slices and vegetables for her to snack on, and then gave her a small bowl of ice cream at the end! She was delighted. It's rare for servers to go so out of their way to make toddlers happy. And because she was happy, so were we!The food is also always predictably enjoyable at the Keg. Wonderful experience. This was our first time dining with The Keg and we could not say better things about the time we had there and the meal we shared. Our server, Amanda was amazing. She guided us as new customers through the menu and was very knowledgeable about the cuts of steak and ways in which they are best served. Throughout our entire time there she went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every course. We don 't think our tip and thank yous were enough to fully illustrate our gratitude. The Keg is a popular restaurant in NE Waterloo that is usually busy. It had been a while since my last visit, so I was curious to see if anything had changed. Not much had. The restaurant is dimly lit and serves as both a sports bar and steakhouse. The menu offers a variety of meat options, including beef, pork, and others. I decided on the teriyaki sirloin steak cooked medium, which was done perfectly and served with fries and some greens. My wife ordered the shrimp and enjoyed it, while my colleague had the filet mignon and said it was excellent. Have not been to the Keg in a while. Had a gift card and decided to go for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised that they were having their lobster summer features. We ordered the New York strip loin and lobster tails for two. The dishes came with a Caesar salad, mushrooms, garlic, mashed potatoes, and seasonal veggies. The lobster tails were a great size and cooked to perfection. The steak was also cooked perfectly. The portions were fantastic. It's probably the best lobster tail we've had in a long time. Everything was reasonably priced and we added some unique drinks to our dinner as well. Overall, it was a great experience and we can't wait to go back again soon.
My husband and I just went to the keg for our 1 year anniversary dinner and had one of the BEST experiences we’ve had in a restaurant.We came Sept 4 at 6 pm and sat at table 11.I unfortunately couldn’t remember our servers name by the time we got home but she was an absolute Gem!Not only was the service great but our drinks and meals were top notch!Steaks cooked to perfection the twice baked potato is amazing!Definitely recommend the Billy Miner Pie as well you can most definitely share as the portion was huge!We left super full and happy thank you for the great experience!We will for sure be back!
My husband made a reservation for my birthday, and the manager was able to get the table that was requested.Our server Nicole was extremely pleasant and friendly. She went above and beyond to meet our needs, I havefood allergies. The manager (chefs )came and introduced himself and acomanaded my food allergies. I recently had the pleasure of being served by the best waitress I've encountered in a long time. Logan, hats off to you! She greeted us with a smile and we shared a chuckle over a first date couple. The dining experience was top-notch, with delicious food and attentive employees who knew their job inside and out. The steak was exceptional, possibly the best in the region.
Although there was a slight confusion with our reservations, we were able to resolve it and were seated in a fantastic booth. We dined at the restaurant on Mother's Day and it was bustling, but our server was diligent and attentive. The steak was prepared excellently, and we left feeling content. This restaurant is definitely a must-visit in town!
Love the service and the extras such as the potato and the dessert. We both found the prime rib completely tasteless! Have been going once a year for our anniversary, and this was a big shock. Talked to a guy at work who said his wife had prime rib last week and it was also very bland. What has happened to Keg prime rib??
