We stayed here for a few nights, the first night we had an amazing waitress (Maddy) who was very helpful and worked with the kitchen to ensure my husbands meal was gluten free as he is coeliac. She was lovely and made sure we stayed hydrated after a day out hiking. The food was great and the wine was delicious. We went there with a group of 30 and the meal was preordered. We the rib eye steak which was slowly cooked over two ours and seasoned. It was roasted before that cooking so it had the crust one expects from a rib eye steak. It was made to request exactly, medium to medium well done. The taste was outstanding. The seasoning which was black and with beer was outstanding too. It had the appearance of a dark beer or soda sauce but the taste was otherworldly !!! I have eaten at The Keg in Toronto before and these chains are popular haunts across Canada. This particular Keg was not as good as the one in Toronto but suited the Banff scene as a family and tourist restaurant. Our meal was good but would probably not go back there if we were to visit again. I had ribs and shared these with my daughter who was not overly hungry. Hubby had a steak, which was nice but again nothing special.
We stayed at the Lodge for a few nights recently and had a nice evening meal our first night.the appetizers(starter) were amazing-Prawn cocktail and the nicest Brie I've ever had. We both followed on with a Ribeye steak. mine was lovely but my wife's was very chewy(both cooked medium). We had breakfast the next day too but this was not great value for money.the steakhouse is definitely worth a visit though.
We called at the last minute to change our reservation from 7pm to 7:30pm and they were very accommodating.Our table was ready when we arrived and we were greeted by our server, who was friendly and gave great service.The food was excellent. My husband said it was the best steak he's eaten (and he's had a lot of steak!)
