The Keg Steakhouse Dartmouth Crossing

We started with the table bread, and I ordered a Keg Classic, which came with a massive blue cheese wedge salad—so many toppings, dressing, and blue cheese crumbles! For our main dishes, my husband had the blackened chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, and the chicken was incredibly juicy. I went for the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection, and I really loved the mushrooms and sauce that accompanied it. Today, I find myself in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and given that we all need to eat, I was eager for a delicious meal. The Keg caught my eye, and from the moment I walked in, I sensed I was in for something special. The ambiance is fantastic, the service is outstanding, and the food was truly exceptional. For my appetizer, I ordered the tuna tartare, followed by the bleu cheese filet mignon paired with asparagus and a baked potato. While the potato was a bit tougher than the steak, the luscious topping on my filet really elevated the dish. That said, it still wasn’t the best steak I’ve ever had—only second best, and I’ve had my fair share of filets!

I really love this Keg location! There's plenty of parking, and the restaurant has a nice, open, modern design. It's well-lit, so I don’t feel like I’m dining in the dark. While I enjoy the Keg in general, this location is much better than the downtown one. The service was fantastic—our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuine. If she wasn’t sure about something, she didn’t hesitate to double-check, which I appreciated. The food arrived at the perfect pace, allowing us to relax and enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. Overall, this is a great space and location!

One of the best steak places in Halifax. I've been to other Keg locations, but none of them can match this one, though I can't quite put my finger on why. The waitstaff were all lovely and engaging, the hostess was quick and attentive, and my son even received a complimentary full-sized cake for his birthday. With prices around $40-50 per plate (post-COVID), it isn’t cheap, but I highly recommend it. Definitely great value for the money spent!

The restaurant was quite busy, likely because it was the Monday following a long weekend. Our server was friendly and had great knowledge of the menu. I ordered the vegetarian meatloaf, and it was absolutely delicious! It was softer than I expected and didn't even require a knife. I really enjoyed it and will definitely order it again!

Monica c did a great job , we were surprised that we requested a specific waitress and we were not notified that she would not be there ,we not only go for the food but the service also . In saying that Monica was a good waitress . A few new specials wouldn't hurt so we could go a little more frequently. Cheers joanne

The entire experience, from check-in to settling the bill, went smoothly. The food was quite delicious. However, the vegetable medley could have been improved with more straightforward choices, like carrots, corn, and peas. Overall, we will definitely return.

I really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. I visited to celebrate a birthday, and by the time we reached dessert, we were too full to finish it. We took it home to enjoy later. I will definitely be going back!
