Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food, and the proprietor was charming. Also, the building is very old and intriguing. Looking out over the old church with its graveyard of crooked stones, and dining between these ancient walls, you realize that you are but a link in a chain. The story of humankind. We construct these notions of success and failure in our lives, but having dinner in The Kings Arms makes all that seem so small and futile. A good time is all that is left in the light of something that is so much bigger than us generations, people and kingdoms that rise and fall what is left in the end? A juicy piece of smoked salmon and some good company. Loving, grieving, celebrating, drinking...
