Went for our 16th anniversary. Had oysters and charred carrots to start and then the halibut and salmon along with some drinks along the way. Oysters were spectacular, carrots were good too. With the salmon I feel we make it better at home. There were 3 pin bones which was odd for fine dining but they did offer to remake it (I didn't feel like that was necessary but I appreciate the gesture). Pea risotto was flavorful. My wife really liked the halibut but said it should have come with some kind of starch instead of kale. Drinks were all good. We sat indoors and they fit a lot of tables into a small space so the noise level was a bit high vs what we were expecting, table for 2 was tiny but we...
Dining on their beautiful porch makes the evening even more special. The food is outstanding, especially the scallops. The wine list is by far and away the most extensive in the entire state of New Jersey. There's also a beautiful bar inside. Considering the food, the ambience, the service, and the beauty of the gorgeous hotel in which the Ebbitt Room is located, no visit to Cape May is complete without dining at the spectacular Ebbitt Room.
Had been to the Ebbit room many times before but not for many years. Dined there for a special occasion this past weekend. Hadn't experienced the back yard outdoor setting before. It was wonderful! Food was even better than we had experienced before! It is defiitely the best restaurant in Cape May, the Jersey shore and beyond!
The Ebbitt Room is a destination restaurant for anyone visiting Cape May. Start with cocktails or wine on the porch before enjoying one of the most memorable meals you will every have. Service and food was very good. The appetizer homemade pasta with crab in lemon bur blanc sauce was truly amazing. The duck breast was superb as well as the scallops. Ambiance was wonderful. A bit pricy but worth it.. I would recommend they give bread with dinner to start off. But overall very satisfied.
The scallop entree we each selected was tasty and attractively plated, but the serving size was small and the cost was high $46/person). Even with a vegetable side dish $18) we shared, we left hungry. The restaurant was lovely and the service excellent, but overall the value was disappointing.
Dining at the Ebbitt Room is always a sheer delight. The food is top notch, the service, virtually impeccable, and the ambiance, perfect. If you are looking for excellent food in traditionally elegant surroundings, the Ebbitt Room should be at the top of your list.
Food and service were exceptional. We selected the salmon and rib eye entrees with a side of baby carrots. Everything was delicious. Server was very attentive and atmosphere was lovely with a pianist playing classic songs. It was a memorable experience. Réservez une table maintenant
