Usually my wife is the one who fills up the comment cards, feedback forms and writes few words on tripadvisor of the place. Usually we are a very happy, cheerful and satisfied customer most of the times. But after this dinner at the Lakes Restaurant I had a feeling I have to write a review by myself. As I am an Italian person I love food (to eat and also to cook) enjoying wine, sweets and coffee too... So I have to say if someone is really passionate about to have a good dinner this place is not the right choice. Bar is lovely, bit outdated but does the job. Technically it was not the Lakes restaurant but a function room where we ate lunch before enjoying a fashion show . However the same kitchen prepared the food for over 100 ladies. The tables were set beautifully, tap water already chilled and on the table and I was very impressed with the efficient service . The food was excellent and a choice between chicken wrapped in ham or a Goats cheese and pepper mille feuille. Both with a very seasonal selection of vegetables and good sauce. Dessert was advertised as Strawberries and cream but it was so much more . A restaurant style selection of small strawberry desserts. My party of 8 were delighted with their lunch and went on to enjoy the fashion...
Great choice of food which can be eaten in the bar or the restaurant, I had the rib eye steak which was cooked perfectly and reasonably priced, my friends had a mix of the other dishes, which they all enjoyed, sticky toffee pudding was too done for!! Friendly service, would definitely recommend
After a busy morning we decamped to the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely lunch with views across the course and water. The chicken lunch was very well cooked and tasty and washed down with a very agreeable wine. Service friendly and food well presented and cooked.

Expectations massively exceeded at Lakes. Beautiful home made bread and flavoursome food. Would definitely recommend utilising hotel restaurant whether you are staying for not. Lovely surroundings too.

Amazing high class dining in a lovely setting among the Stoke by Nayland Hotel Spa.. Food is cooked to a very high standard and tastes amazing.. 10/10
Food was a 8/10 service spot on and a great view, would go again no problem, The staff work very hard to make you feel welcome

Booked on a weekend golf break, courses were fantastic, hotel rooms and staff great, evening meal was really nice and then!!!
Lovely food with beautiful presentation but service very slow! I was really starving. Always make a reservation.
