Large rooms. Really uncomfortable bed. Windows open with great effort, it is not possible to open partially and for ventilation we simply opened the entrance door to the room. We got a third floor room without an elevator. Lots of stairs. It is very difficult to lift all the luggage. Restaurant on site, despite the recommendations we were less impressed by the food. A typical English breakfast. The service very much depends on the waitress who was there that day. It is not entirely clear who can be contacted and who is responsible. Went for a meal with my daughter. I don't eat lamb and there was a mix up with what I ordered. The meat was covered in sauce and as I don't know what lamb tastes like. I didn't realise that's what I had been served until the bill came. I was horrified. The manager came and said I had ordered lamb. He wouldn't accept that he had made a mistake. He was arrogant and extremely intimidating. Mistakes happen I know but how this was handled was extremely bad. Totally spoiled our night. He eventually charged me for what I had ordered but there was no apology. Service: 1 Location: 3
Well located, fair rooms, good restarant, parking on site, pet friendly... has a lot of things going for it! Just note the somewhat unusual 11am check-out time and they tend to get rather snippy with you if you are even 5 seconds late, in fact, expect a knock on your door 15 seconds before the clock strikes 11 telling you to be out! -1* for that. Found the staff very unhelpful, and rude actually. We walked in hoping to have some lunch after being recommended the place but felt like we were in the way and a nuisance. We intended to have lunch but just had a quick drink and left. Atmosphere was awkward and very unwelcoming. Service: 1

We went for a meal in the evening in the bar with my little Westie. The restaurant was charming, beautifully decorated the staff attentive and friendly. The food was superb and the best chips ever. Fabulous. Service: 5 Location: 5
