I was attracted by the good review so we chosed this pub. It is very disappointing and I feel obligated to tell others of our experience of the food. The service is good though. The soup of the day was extremely extremely salty. I like to urge the chef/cook to try it himself! The skin of the seabass was soft and not crispy at all. He could have torched it if he cares, instead of serving it like that. I did not eat the slimmy skin. The grilled mediterranean vegetables should be fine except a piece of onion nearest to the outer skin was served and I had no choice but to push it out. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary at this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and taken to a quiet table with a special plaque wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Our orders were taken promptly and the starters were delicious. When our steaks arrived, we were both impressed by how tender and flavorful they were - the best we've ever had in England. It was absolutely fantastic! However, I found my creme brulee dessert to be too sweet and rich for my liking, so I could only manage a few spoonfuls. Next time, I'll choose something lighter. Overall, it was a lovely evening and we will definitely be returning. I highly recommend trying The Legstraps to anyone.
We enjoyed a really good meal at The Legstraps in Wootton on 14 February with a bottle of wine and apero. The food was excellent and the staff helpful. We treated ourselves to the côte de boeuf for two, fabulous. The chef helpfully cut it up at the table when we asked for a bigger knife. Starter a shared fish platter also excellent, as were our desserts. Worth the drive and the price you can easily spend as much on an inferior meal elsewhere.
Excellent food. Perfect portions. Masses of gluten free options. Gorgeous vegan ice-cream and dessert wine. I'd have liked a few more options on a Sunday, (I'm not that much of a Sunday roast fan, but it was good food, all the same). I'm not vegan, but was trying to avoid saturated fats.

It was OK. Sort of 4/10. Service mediocre but better than the food. Didnt warrant a complaint but was close. Given other reviews on here, it was disappointing. Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend. Far better pub-restaurants out there.
Fabulous food and great service for our Golden Wedding Anniversary last Friday. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous ensuring that we had a wonderful day. Thanks again to The Legstraps, you were amazing.
No parking reserved for disabled guests. No disabled toilets and the ones that already exist are not accessible. Meats were not cooked to our liking and at no point we we asked how we'd like them cooked. Nice desert.
The duck breast was cooked perfectly. The staff was very welcoming even though we didn't have a reservation. The beer selection was also impressive and well maintained.
