It appears that the focus is on the dining...which we appreciate and did not partake. Food is by reservation only. We stayed in room 6. The bed was very uncomfortable for the both of us...we could feel the lumps and bumps of the mattress. It needs a new mattress. We woke up sore each night. Really the window can't be opened due to the road noise but when closed you don't hear it. There is an A/C that helped. The inn is historic and has the glitchiness that old homes have...no biggie. However, for lack of a better word we found ourselves a bit claustrophobic...perhaps it was a smaller than anticipated room with slanted ceiling. My wife and I had the seven-course chef tasting dinner at the Lincoln Inn Restaurant in Woodstock during my first trip to Vermont. We have experienced chef tasting menus at many restaurants around the world, and this was one of the best. Chef Jevgenija Saromova is a culinary artist, and partner Mara Mehlman selected the perfect wine pairings for each dish. The courses were delicious and exquisitely prepared. I was not expecting this level of gourmet dining on the outskirts of a small Vermont town. Thank you Jevgenija and Mara for a wonderful dining experience.
