We visited The Lodge for Mother's Day lunch, after having booked. The meal itself was enjoyable with good quality dishes (we all had the roast, mix of beef and lamb really good joints! , well presented and which we thought were all value for money. How ever, we felt the service was somewhat lacking we had to ask for menus after a while, drinks order taken for only half the table then rushed off before asking the rest, had to ask for table water couple of times, etc. I appreciate that it might have been unusually busy for a Sunday given it was Mother's Day but I'm always a bit surprised when restaurants seem caught off guard by this, especially when they have a special menu in place.
My experience at the lodge was delightful. It is located just a 14-minute car ride from Haymarket, making it a great choice for those looking for a spot outside the town center. The staff and owners were very accommodating and the food was incredibly fresh, especially the seafood pasta which was divine. The restaurant is also kid-friendly and the interior and fire pit are impressive investments. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
The meal was excellent and the staff, especially our waitress, were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. I ordered the fish and chips, which were possibly the best I've ever had.
Disorganised but friendly service. Initial wait for drinks was long and confused. Manager could have been a bit more welcoming, leaving us waiting awkwardly even tho we’d booked. Food was quite good.

We like to dine at an early time to avoid crowded places and were not disappointed. Food was lovely and the staff were very polite and attentive. Liked it so much we went back for lunch the next day!
Good food (beware the onion rings are huge! pleasant atmosphere and lovely staff, just wish it had been a bit warmer inside on such a bitterly cold evening.
