Very small din in seating and only 2 servers for approx. 10-12 tables. The bar was a larger area than the dining area. We waited about an hour and ten minutes for our food while we hear unruly children. That's not the restaurant's fault, I'm just saying. I'm not sure if they've been short all the time, but definitely at the night we left. I ordered a chili cheeseburger and my husband ordered a bowl of chili. It is definitely a skillful chili, not good and overpriced considering that it was more like a cup, not an actual bowl. Seriously, it was a very small amount. I was there twice in a few minutes before the opening and the door was visibly locked inside with the staff. Usually this is not a big deal unless you are on a time trip. The food is phenomenal and not just for Red Oak. The food is really great, the chefs are fantastic. If I were the business owner, I would be deepened in losing business because my employees cannot open up in time for people who eat on their lunch break. I saw another customer run away because they wouldn't open the door. They were four people who don't spend their money there. Baffling.
Been coming here for a while, and the food used to be the best. However, as of recent, there been a dip in quality in the food. My mother's lonestar burger had no bbq sauce when it should, the onion ribgs were soggy, and the bacon on it was burnt. My own patty was far too crunchy and over cooked as well. The edges are black and hard. I'm very disappointed, I use to love this place and community it built. I hope it restores itself, but I don't know if we'll return any time soon.
The food was delicious, but the service was terrible that our friends wanted to sit at the bar and the bartender who served us was busy in a corner with friends instead of taking care of their customers. When I had to overtake the music to get her attention, she gave me her name that I couldn't catch because of the music. And on the way to the owners tell your employees that you have a burger and bar joint in Texas the music was not suitable for the name or atmosphere.
