We have been to the Lucky Squire about a year ago and loved it. This time was completely different. The restaurant has adopted an Ap-only ordering system with no hard-copy menus available and no wait-staff. So it 's impossible to ask questions about the meals or request things like sequence of meals, sharing or a pause between courses. There were 4 of us and the meals arrived sporadically over a 20 minute period with some of us close to finishing before other 's meals arrived. This is a great location to have a birthday or event at as there’s booths and a quieter dining area inside and a busy atmosphere outside. The food was alright- my friends had steaks which they said were 10/10, my partners pizza was good but nothing special 6.5/10 and I’m a vegetarian so there weren’t many options and I got the gnocchi which was yum but again nothing I would be racing back to get 6.5/10. My friends and I had a good time there, there was some acoustic music but at 8pm they were playing kind of soft tone songs that were making us sleepy, especially paired with some beers. Normally enjoy the food at James Squire but this experience in Broadbeach was underwhelming. We both ordered the BBQ pork ribs which were serve warm and seemed reheated. The coleslaw was off and neither of us could eat it. The chips also average floating in gravy and the 5 small onion rings very below par. Would not eat here again for the cost of the meal. I did inform staff and there was no attempt to rectify.
we had a table for 11 adult and 1 child booked, received confirmation that would be okay. when we arrived there, the table was only for 9, when we asked the employee to sit after our booking, they said there was nothing they could do, and they wanted to split our party into two groups to accredit. the employee really had no care factor and said we had to deal with it.

The service was poor. Your staff knew little about the menu. The meat was not cooked as ordered and vegetables were cold. We ordered the wood fired carrots as a side. They came out steamed and not together with what was said on the menu. Sent them back. They arrived at the end of the meal. Cold Horrible experience. Will not recommend
Very disappointed with food service timing. Our staters which we were planning on all sharing come out all together with the mains. So no time to enjoy the starters and then a 10-15 minute break until mains. Food was nice but timing terrible.
We could not hear each other talk due to the trivia night that was happening next door to the dining . The staff turned the speaker down and was much better , but was still very loud and annoying.
terrible service. QR code order was the only option. adviser would be waiting for 40 minutes, but they came while we still eat. the food was bland and overpriced.

eating was not so good sharing my meal stale. can not pay for eating in cash unless they have cash, but they can use a drink and a card. What is this about?
