Popped in to this pub on the way home from visiting family in Bury St Edmunds. They were only doing Roast dinners, as this was the first day they had done food, I belive. I had the roast turkey and my husband had the roast beef. The turkey was very moist and not at all dry, which is a danger when ordering this meat out... The beef was lovely and pink with very little fat. Lovely home cooked roast potatoes, nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! The yokies did seem to be premade sadly, as it would be nice to see a nice big home made one. However we were assured that they would be starting to make their own as the get in to the swing of it. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and have never had a bad experience. The food is very tasty, always on time and always hot. Tony and Beckie are fabulous hosts and nothing is too much for them, this rubs off on the staff who are all polite and efficient. Fantastic live performances almost every weekend. A beautiful beer garden with plenty of space for the kids to run around in. I would thoroughly recommend this pub especially the Sunday roasts)
So clean! A great family environment and the food was delicious, I recommend the Hunters Chicken! Can't fault the range on the menu but it was the staff that made this pub a favourite. They were genuine and couldn't do enough to make sure me and my family were comfortable. With regular entertainment and top notch food, The Maldon Grey is mine and my family's choice for the perfect Sunday escape.
We had a lovely Sunday roast, the food was excellent and the manager was very attentive. We will definitely be going back there again. We did wait a bit for our food but we were chatting so we didn’t mind. This pub is quiet yet cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The new management is doing a fantastic job. The price per person ranges from £10 to £20. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5 as well. There is plenty of parking available, and the parking lot offers free parking options.
