The Malt Shovel, Eynsford

I visited this pub for the first time today around 1:30 PM for lunch, and I must say, the Malt Shovel is a fantastic place. The service, food, and overall value are all outstanding. Given the rising prices we've seen over the past year, the prices here are quite reasonable. It's refreshing to find a pub that still offers good value without trying to take advantage of its patrons. The San Miguel beer was excellent, my ribs were delicious, and my girlfriend's steak was cooked perfectly. The staff were very accommodating with my two-year-old son, which I really appreciated. We will definitely be returning soon; the drive from Sidcup is absolutely worth it.

Met up with some girlfriends last week and we were very impressed with everything here. The manager was friendly, helpful and efficient. We discussed the wine and had a super White Rioja, Lopes de Haro. The menu was varied and when our meals arrived we were all impressed with the presentation not to mention the flavours and quantity. Rather than have a full desert each the chef was very thoughtful and divided two chocolate brownies for the 6 of us each to have some with our coffee he even added a strawberry and ice cream. Brilliant. A super place to eat I would highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful Sunday roast at this pub. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, which adds to the overall enjoyment. The restrooms were spotless, a sign of a well-maintained establishment. There is free parking available on the street, which is a bonus. There are also two other English pubs nearby. Overall, we had some delightful experiences here.

A big group of us enjoyed lunch after the armistice parade, and we had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the meal was delightful. We appreciate the effort from the staff for making our visit so enjoyable. Price per person: £20–30. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 4/5. This is a lovely pub with excellent food and drinks. We visited on a Sunday and enjoyed a wide variety of main courses, drinks, and desserts, all of which were outstanding. The staff was very attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely return soon. I recommend making a reservation on the weekend, as it was quite busy, but the service remained fantastic.

Had to order coffee but mistakenly forgot to mention takeaway! The situation after that went badly by mumbling disrespectful conversation and then left my coffee in a soup cup, not a normal coffee cup apart from that the coffee taste was great.

Enjoyed this place. Landlord sensibly told us there would be a wait for food and would take our order when the kitchen was ready. Worth the wait excellent burger and a well cooked gammon steak. Well kept Harveys on tap.

Best local pub! Though I am a bit biased. The food is genuinely good pub fare with crispy fluffy chips. Good variety of dishes with the seasons. Good chat at the bar with friendly locals.
