Do not visit this restaurant under any circumstances. I ordered 2 fish and a bag of chips from them, a simple order. After waiting for nearly 2 hours and trying to reach them by phone multiple times, I finally got someone on the line. The first person couldn't find my order, so she passed the phone to someone else. When this new person asked for my address and I gave it to him, he simply replied, "yeah, that's out for delivery." No apologies for the extreme delay.
I ordered food from the Master Fryer App and experienced very slow delivery. It took just under an hour to receive my order of chips, burger, pie, and fishcake. The Victoria Park pie was clearly microwaved as the pastry was soggy and inedible. To make matters worse, there was a long hair on it, so I had to throw it away. I usually enjoy the Master Fryer, but recently the quality of the food has noticeably declined.
This is our first visit and we were impressed with the service, quality and taste of the food. We ordered two fish and chips with a side of mushy peas and a small sausage in batter with chips. The food was ready in about 15 minutes and the portion sizes were perfect. The food tasted great and the fish was lovely and flaky with a crispy batter. The fish shop was clean and the staff were nice.
This restaurant takes great care in preparing, handling, and presenting food with great attention to detail. The fish is tender and the batter is crispy and light. Everything I have tried here - from battered sausages to curry sauce - has been outstanding. The food tastes fresh every time. The staff and delivery drivers are delightful. We were let down by chippies at Barry Island so looked elsewhere. I generally dislike 'Jack of all trades ' takeaways and would normally have walked past this place. Then we were pleasantly surprised! Great fish chips, huge portions and very fair prices. Our decision to eat from this takeaway was informed by the displayed food hygiene rating of 4/5 (Good).
If you don’t like wearing a mask it’s ok as they will let you stand in the shop and staff will serve you and say nothing. After that customer was served and left a comment was made to staff to which they replied WAS THERE. !!!!!!!! The fish was good but chips were cold. DONT VISIT IF YOU WANT TO AVOID CATCHING COVID 19
Chips were cold and soggy and the fish was really dry. Curry sauce was nice though. Really disappointed as I waited over an hour and a half for this (I live a stones throw away so shouldn't really be turning up cold!? and it has gone in the bin, I won't be ordering again.

Every new year's day we spoil ourselves and have fish and chips. The Master Fryer is the best cooked to order. And the staff very pleasant Very clean and complys with the Covid restrictions

"Popped in at 2.15 pm on a quiet Friday- asked very unfriendly landlady if we could play darts- she refused saying it is only for darts team to use and that tables were booked. Only table used was no where near the dart board."
