The Meating Room is an upscale style pub with a range of higher end pub style dishes. There's a variety of craft beer on tap and they make their own biltong. It's a great spot for family occasions or a catch up with friends. They have a kids area too. The beef ribs are melt in your mouth delicious and the deep-fried cheesecake needs to be tried by everyone. They are opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have live music on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. eatcanberra.com.au
Had a family lunch here, and whilst it was nice and warm, with polite and professional staff, the food and value for money let the place down. $26 for a small schnitzel with chips and salad. Not good. Also the kids chicken fingers dish was heavily seasoned with what almost tasted like Steak Or Taco Spice. Anyone who has kids knows that this is a no no. Dipping sauces much safer. Funny enough the adult shnitz had no such spice powder, which was good. The burger was really good, but overall, we left underwhelmed.
Not sure if this is still the case - a month ago had this amazing succulent herby spiced half chicken that was to come with three dipping sauces. But the dipping sauces were BBQ tomato and plain Mayo - super disappointing - I was hoping for some amazing Spanish style dipping sauces or something homemade - chocolate spiced gravy, spicy tomato, aioli and something herby like Verde spring to mind as options. Hope they hc sorted it out cause great place. Nice wine
Went to The Meeting Room with a friend for brekkie while. Was one of the few places in Canberra open for an early breakfast. The atmosphere was warm and inviting on a cold winters dat although I think the look they went for was hipster. I ordered the paleo brekkie while my friend ordered the breakfast pizza. The coffees in mugs are huge. Breakfast arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and were delicious. Cant complain. Total bill $42. Réservez une table maintenant
We met for Brunch with a group of friends. All commented on the tasty food we had.My ‘Mushroom Stack’ was excellent and others managed to enjoy the Meating Room egg and bacon rolls, the mixed grills and the scrambled eggs. Coffee was good too. The place was well patronised by young mums (and a few dads) with young children and babies. We made up the group of ‘oldies’ in the room. The service was very good.Will definitely go again.
I read about this place on Facebook so decided to try it while we were in town. Great casual vibe, loved the aranchini and the wings we started with. The star was the slow braised ribs! The service was ordinary, we asked for some time between starters and ribs but it all came out together. We were told (with no appology) that the ribs would have to be remade if we wanted them later but that the kitchen was closing.
Awesome coffee. Great food. Friendly service and a good vibe in the dark, underground and industrial fitout. There have to be a dozen decent coffee shops in Weston now. This is my favourite by far, and as a massive plus it also turns in it to a pub at lunch and dinner with an awesome collection of beers on tap! (okay, I have to also admit I have on occasion had a brekky beer)
Disappointed - dropped by for Sunday brunch - food looked amazing but waited around for service only to be told 20 minutes after she seated us at our table that it wasn't table service. Perhaps next time tell people that when you sit down. Due to the wait we then missed he breakfast menu. Annoyed. Walked out. Unless they improve their service, don't bother. Great atmosphere. Great, friendly service. Awesome food! Refreshing! Being from Adelaide we have depended alot on other reviews of restaurants, so we decided to start adding our opinions. This place is great! Would definitely come back! Highly recommend!
