The Merchant Tavern

I had much higher expectations for the Merchant. I have been told so many good things that maybe my expectations were higher. I do feel it deserves another try as maybe we were there on an off night.I like that they are making their own vodka and soon rum. I think that is a really cool concept and unique. The menu is good and has something for almost everyone. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Our server was great and very attentive and explained the food and drink menus.As I mentioned, maybe it was just an off time, it happens and I get that. I had a burger and was just not impressed. It was a little overdone, my fault for not saying anything, but the flavor of the toppings was just not ther...

the food and the bar are excellent. the atmosphere is beautiful. I'm sorry to say. after I have a reservation that I am on the clock. the hostess might not be rude. the speed of their kitchen and server have something to do with the time it takes to get through a meal. I'm just coming back to eat and the big server. I run almost every time I tell myself I have to be out sometime.

Sauerkraut balls are really good. But unfortunately the meatloaf is beyond repair. Entirely way to much seasoning, and whatever seasoning they’re using is overpowering. It’s meatloaf, how do you screw that up? I could only eat half, and it had nothing to do with the size of the entree, it just wasn’t very good. Great atmosphere inside however.

we love this place, everyone is always friendly. the bartenders make quality drinks and eating is delicious. have been here several times for date night and never disappointed! the atmosphere is great and they always feel welcome. just a good mood.
