I'll start off by saying that unfortunately I'm not surprised by the behavior of the staff at Metrograph. This place is a hub for entitled white film buffs who truly believe they're doing something. I digress. I came here last night for my colleague and friend's screening for an artist series. A group of us decided to stay and celebrate after at the bar/restaurant area upstairs. We asked for a table and when I say the two women working hesitated when we asked, i'd be downplaying their behavior. They really did not want to give us a table. Keep in mind they weren't busy and had plenty of tables available. Here is where I should say that our group was mainly black and brown folks. They gave us...

I’m literally the last person to complain on google reviews, or any review for that matter. But I have to say that I had a terrible experience this week watching a Kubrick film. My wife and I arrived 15 mins before the start and were told only a few seats remained, either in the first or second row. Fine, we wouldn’t pass up the movie date we had planned for Months. The monotoned ticket box cashier invited me to see the second row. What he didn’t mention is that the seat available was one regular seat and one “companion seat.” What is a companion seat? It’s a rickety old wooden chair that could have been taken off the street. I literally felt like the chair would break during the film. I wan...
after the pandemic that new yorker catches for so many reasons, metrographs reopening is an urgently needed reminder of the joys of going out. here it is right. an unmarried cocktail is distilled here civilisation. eating is very, very good (if not transcendent;) the service attentive, but not clog, and the vibe on-point, but not trendy. the steaktar counts among gothan's best. there is however a wide golf between the service in the upper floor in the commissar (professional and knowing) and down at the door (not helpful and limitless.) it feels like two different places. simply keep the absurdities of the doorman and know that when they make it up, everything will be right. but, management,...
definitely the best film curation in the city, there is always something to see. also… the seats really are not that uncomfortable lol! i was bracing for the worst but they are fine. also a big fan of the membership, $5/month to knock 7 bucks off tickets and have access to a streaming service is such an excellent deal! Highly recommend to catch a flick here!Great location, film programming, and bar is on point. The vibe of the bar is worth going to on its own. I have a sensitivity to smell and sometimes certain seats in the theater can be a bit musky. But with that said its not enough to deter me from going.
Fantastic global selection of movies that’s not just European American arthouse. Beautiful tasteful brand design. And this might sound strange, but I LOVE whatever scent they use to perfume the indoors and the bathroom. Smells fresh classy.
Minimalist brasserie with excellent service, strong aesthetics, and relaxed vibes. It’s giving a lobby bar in a chic, downtown hotel. Go for brunch, cocktails, or dessert.
Excellent movies and a superb restaurant and bar all nestled in this super trendy theater in LES. Don’t miss it! Réservez une table maintenant
