We recently stayed at the Miners Cottage next to the Miners Arms in Whitecroft for a weekend getaway. The owners of the Miners Arms also manage the cottage for self catering accommodations. We chose the Cottage because of its convenient location, allowing us to easily visit various towns in the Forest of Dean such as Coleford, Cinderford, and Ross on Wye, as well as popular attractions like Puzzlewood and forest walks. This restaurant is family and dog friendly and offers great food with a friendly staff. My family and I stayed at The Miners Cottage next door and ended up eating at the restaurant twice during our stay. The first time we walked in for lunch and despite there being large parties booked, the host, Ian, managed to fit us in. The staff were efficient and despite the busy kitchen, we didn't have to wait long. The local Butty Bach ale helped pass the time while waiting for our food. The Faggots with mash and veg reminded me of childhood holidays in South Wales and my son enjoyed his homemade steak pie. Even my 3 and a half year old granddaughter devoured her burger and fries. This place has it all. Lovely friendly locals amidst a dog owners paradise. Plenty of room outside to enjoy a drink and the food wow. We ordered King prawns and Wild boar pate for starters and this did not disappoint. The main courses were Lamb shank and sirloin steak and the chef knows how to cook meat to perfection. Came here upon recommendation from our holiday cottage and it was spot on. Service was excellent and staff really friendly. Food was top notch and there were clean plates all round! Particular favourites were the Wild Boar pate and the Lamb Shank. Would definitely recommend. Lovely beer garden and outdoor play area for the kids too. Dog friendly Réservez une table maintenant

The service and food at this restaurant were excellent. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. I would suggest making a reservation, as we were fortunate to get a table but others after us were either turned away or had to wait.

They looked after 14 of us (4 families) in a delightfully friendly way. Food was simple but delicious, very reasonably priced and the service was excellent. They sat us on a long table (kids one end adults the other) and were very attentive and helpful. Happy to have well behaved dogs too.

Just had diner at the Miners Arm, food and service was excellent. Ability to cater for dairy free child very good. Well presented bar and eating area, toilets very clean. Would happily eat here again.

We enjoyed an excellent meal whilst walking in the area. Very cosy with the fires lit. Staff were very welcoming.
