We visited a local village pub on a busy Friday night. After waiting about 5 minutes to be served at the bar, we ordered drinks. Surprisingly, while my daughter (who is nearly 21) was not asked for ID initially, a bartender later approached her requesting identification. Although I understand the challenge 25 policy, I would have preferred if they had asked for her ID at the point of sale to avoid drawing attention in the crowded pub. I hope this was not connected to our being the only people of color present. Despite this incident, we have previously enjoyed drinks and lunch at this pub and plan to return. Fantastic local pub in the lovely village of Willaston! As a local and semi regular visitor, the Staff are always friendly and helpful. Great selection of drinks including beers from local breweries and a variety of guest ales. Food is also great, but be sure to get there early on a Sunday if you want a roast as they are popular and can sell out! There are dog friendly areas to the pub and a supply of treats on the bar!
We were on a walk down the Wirral way from Hooton station and this is a really nice handy place to stop for lunch as it is on a crossroads and there are numerous walks in different directions that can be done from here. They have a great menu and I tried out the pulled lamb baguette. It was a great tasty meal at a reasonable price. They also have a good range of beers. Service was excellent and efficient.
Didn’t realise it was Burns Night but they had an additional specials menu on and two of us tried it. OMG! The food was amazing, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Excellent service too. We had a lovely evening and will definitely go back very soon.

Went here for a nice leisurely lunch staff were very helpful and friendly had the fish and chips which was really good and very plentiful I would recommend this to anyone. Also meals are not expensive
Stopped off for a Sunday roast as pollards was busy but I am glad it was as this was one of the best roast dinners we have had. Staff very friendly and can't do enough we will definitely be back xx
We had a family members wake here, service was great, food good and staff so lovely and friendly. A little gem of a place
This restaurant serves standard pub food. The dishes could have been served hotter to keep the food warm for longer.

Great pub and great food... great manager and staff. We were a group of seven mixed ages.
I just had a coffee, but the cappuccino was really good.
