I am bemused by all the glowing commendations of the landlady of this establishment being apparently friendly and welcoming, since that was far from my experience. I note that another review on here has described her as patronising, which she was indeed to me. She...began by telling me to cheer up, which I didn't need as I was feeling just fine. I then attempted to get on line on my laptop using the pub's wi fi. I visit many, many venues, and this has never been a problem elsewhere, but clearly was for her. We love the Olive Bush good tradition English village. So nice to go into a pub and chat. No music bonus for use, great range of drinks , we love the Goats Milk, one of the best real ale’s out there. This is a lovely pub! I visited during a canal boat trip on Friday with a group of 18 people and we enjoyed a few drinks. They were very accommodating, especially since we made our dining arrangements at the last minute. We liked it so much that we are planning to return next Sunday for a meal. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was very welcoming and lively. I highly recommend this pub!
It is rare to find a village pub of this nature. Excellent hearty food, ideal for canak users. A healthy twenty minutes from bridge 101 and worth the effort. Ring and check re menu and always book. This village pub serves excellent ale wide range...of gin, has pub games and a covered eating area. Comes with a charming hardworking owner that literally does everything. Highly recommended.
Phoned to book five days in advance and the landlady couldn't have been more friendly, courteous and helpful. We needed a late-ish booking, but that was no trouble for the landlady who went out of her way to help. Will update this review after we...have visited, but I wanted in the meantime to say that my experience of this lovely landlady are nothing like the previous review.
We went to this lovely pub yesterday for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and home cooked with lovely fresh vegetables. The staff and service were outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us. The garden and outside area is very pretty. It was an easy...walk from The Grand Union Canal too. We had a lovely time and will certainly return.
