I was enticed by the £5 mini fish and chips takeaway, but once I entered I ordered a large fish and chips for £7.95 and I didn't regret it big portions enough for two. Batter was light and flavourful, almost like tempura. The inner batter was kind of mushy which I liked because it was a contrast in texture. The fish was smooth and firm yet not dry. Really delicious, although slightly on the greasier side, especially the chips . Their pies were tasty and affordable.
The restaurant offers generous portions of made-to-order dishes at affordable prices. It was quiet during our visit, but the atmosphere was inviting. There is an additional charge for condiments like tartar sauce, ketchup, and mayonnaise. This restaurant is a great choice for a family outing, with friendly staff and delicious menu options such as the Cumbrian sausage burger, which has received rave reviews, and the speck and sausage patty burger.
This charming fish and chip shop in Ambleside is outstanding. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. After trying all the chip shops in the area, I can confidently say that this one is the best in Ambleside. I visited twice in one week and was impressed both times. It's a fantastic family-run business.
As a Canadian who lived in Ambleside for four months, I frequented this restaurant weekly. Upon my recent return, I decided to stop by and purchase some food. This restaurant is just as good as getting fish and chips! Bravo Fish was delicious, the chips were perfect, and the service was excellent. I couldn't be happier or more satisfied. Keep up the good work, I will definitely be back. The ambiance and experience here are spot on. Well done!
