On several occasions, I experienced discriminatory treatment from a staff member, which was very upsetting. During my first visit a few months ago, I called to ask about using a credit I had. The person who answered the phone was initially polite, but the situation quickly went downhill. Even though I intended to dine in, I was abruptly told, "Here is your food, now you can go," as I was instructed to leave the premises after placing my order online. When I questioned this treatment and suggested it might be due to my skin color, I was threatened with police involvement and accused of being rude. I asked, “Isn’t this an open environment for customers to eat? There are others here eating.” He...
I order online all the time. Here's the thing....the food is FANTASTIC and it's fresh but you will wait for it if you don't take the preparation time seriously. If it tells you your order will be ready around 12:15, they aren't joking. They get a million orders because of how delicious thier food is so don't show up to pick up your order early....this isn't the place. Quality takes time. Now with that being said, I get the chicken bowl and it is AMAZING, every single time. The portions are usually good enough for 2 meals at least for me). Side note....the deli case is where the magic happens. Anything in it...buy. Tabouli, hummus, rice pudding...BUY IT, give it as gifts or horde it for yours...
If you've visited other locations like I have, you might find this one disappointing. While the service was friendly, they only offer one type of rice, and the food selection is quite limited. Additionally, the containers used for storing food here are smaller and different from those at other locations. Unfortunately, you also can't earn rewards points for your meals at this site. I usually order from Rachel's 3 to 4 times a month, so accumulating rewards is important to me. Overall, I don't think I'll be returning to this location; I much prefer my usual spots on Niagara Falls Blvd or Delaware. That said, I must commend the staff for their excellent service and the cleanliness of the place...
My husband and I stopped here for a quick dinner. We love mediterranean/middle eastern food. We both got falafel. The servings were very small and skimpy. There were hardly any toppings on the falafel. The tzatziki sauce was tasteless white water. It is supposed to be flavorful and thick. The bathroom and dining room was filthy. The dining room floor was sticky. The tables were dirty and there was a used mask on the floor. The prices were high for the amount of food you get. Very disappointed.
Horrible experience.. I asked for chicken and rice bowl well done chicken. When I got it the chicken was not well done. But undercooked. I asked for the money back I payed 20 cash. Rachel refused and gave me nasty attitude.. when I said ok remake the food then. They didn't was exactly the same. So they kept my good and my money. She asked me to leave. Will never go there again or recommend! She shouldn't be in charge or dealing with customers.. awful service!
I Love Rachel’s but this was my first time at the Original Rachel’s and I can’t believe it but it was even more delicious. The food is incredible and the family that runs the place is a great kind hard working family. In fact THE Rachel even let us take a photo with her! Super great place. If you love Rachel’s you have to go to the original Rachel’s at least once!
