We stayed at this restaurant for two nights and visited the local attractions including the Hearts House, Benedictine Abbey, and Habitable Spirits. The building and garden area were a true delight with a lovely view and stone circle. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff were quirky characters straight out of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Breakfast was well-organized and the coffee was exceptional. We appreciated the attention to history, which added to our overall experience. The Oxenhams may have left long ago, but their legacy lives on thanks to Sabine Baring-Gould.
