I agree with the points made by Wadds in the review below. The food at this restaurant is overpriced and of low quality. It is available all day, but it seems like evening meals have been sitting warm since the morning. The portions are small and taste dry and unappetizing. Despite advertising "Fresh Home Cooked Food," they use instant gravy and frozen Yorkshire Puddings, making it clear that the ads are misleading. There are better food options available locally that are also more affordable. The pub itself is decent, clean and tidy, with reasonable beer and wine options. However, it lacks the welcoming atmosphere of a local pub and the food quality does not meet the standards of a proper e...

What a place, been going here since the new landloard tookover early last year, clean, friendly, good all round pub and restaurant with a beautiful rear beer garden overlooking the river, which has just recently been extended with a new lawn and lovely new tables.... Peace and quiet while you feed the swans! As for inside, nice decor, no loud music, quiet snug areas, with a little area a bit livelier area to watch TV and have a giggle with the friendly locals. The restaurant has an improving growing menu, all home cooked food which can be washed down with a choice from the extensive wine menu, or one of a few well kept guest ales. Service, all young friendly people ralied around by the frien...

Well I don 't know which pub the other 4 reviewers went to but my experience was not good. I always order safely when I try somewhere new to build up confidence in the chef before paying for the expensive items on the menu. Steak ale pie. What can go wrong. Dried up must have been stood in the open air for 2 days at least. Packet gravy mix. Home cooked chips maybe but cold and had not been peeled properly actually quite dirty. Sent meal back. Received a bit of a feeble apology and a drink on the house which I declined. The excuse was they had an agency chef in. MY ADVICE USE A DIFFERENT AGENCY .

The food at this restaurant was horrible. The hot roast beef sandwich that I ordered was made with one slice of cold, grey-looking beef placed between a dry baguette. The gravy tasted like dishwater and the whole meal felt like a complete rip-off at £8.95. They charge high prices for food that is well below standard. I am very disappointed and feel like I was completely taken advantage of.
