We were on our way from Craters of the Moon to Butte, MT on our route for Glacier. We were going to get into town late so we were looking for dinner, when Google returned the hidden gem, The Peat Hotel Steakhouse in Lima, MT.Right off the highway, and easy to get to with plenty of parking. The food is amazing! The pizza is top notch. Kabobs are very good. The management is HORRIBLE. They treat their customers like ****. Management never greets returning customers or thanks them for coming in. I feel bad for their staff having to work for her. Hopefully the owners will step in and help her out a bit. I have been coming to the Peat for over 30 years and the way I was treated this last week I can't go back until I hear that Shea received and attitude adjustment from the owners.
This restaurant is fantastic! The steak, pizza, and steak sandwich were all incredible. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the overall experience. The service was excellent as well! Whenever I'm passing through Lima, I'll definitely make it a point to stop by!
I have eaten at top steakhouses in New York, Dallas, and LA. The Peat tops them all. I cannot recommend them high enough. Be sure to allow yourself enough time to enjoy the atmosphere of this small-town GEM.

The food scene is really missing out on this gem! This place is incredible! I give it 5 stars! The hospitality is exceptional and the food is outstanding! I can’t wait to come back in the spring!
Owner Pete was excellent on the grill …and cooking right in the center of the restaurant! Locally cut of steak with excellent marbling on the ribeye!! 5 stars for food, atmosphere and staff!!
There were 6 in our party, we all had steaks cooked to our liking. Best steak I've had in a long time. The young lady who took care of us did an excellent job!Nice rugged atmosphere.
I realize this is a bit overdue, but we dined there on July 12, 2007, and it was simply amazing. I loved everything about this place. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
