Portly Piper Pub Ajax

Went a Thursday evening around 9, it was quite busy but we got seated fairly quickly. Started off with their drink menu, ended up getting a Daiquiri and Margarita which were great. My girlfriends and I opted to get some apps because they happened to have some half price. We ordered the nacho's, spinach and artichoke dip, and the sticky thai chicken tenders and chips. We were all very pleased with our food and we were very full. The service was great by our waitress. It is loud inside when it is packed with people, so if you're looking for some place quiet I wouldn't recommend. But overall great atmosphere, food and service definitely will be back.

I visited the Ajax location on Aug 7 with some family members. We were greeted by a really friendly server who let us seat ourselves. Once seated the another server had the regular menus and a kids menu with crayons waiting for us. We started with some apps - Tortilla flutes and bruschetta with feta. They were fantastic and had great presentation when served. the other orders were wings, shrimp pad thai, salmon and mac and cheese for the little one. All of which were excellent. In my opinion...the best bar food in Durham.

I have been going to The Portly for the last 5 years and have always had great food and great service. We've even tried the Oshawa pub and it's as good. Food is way above the average restaurant in Ajax and the servers are always friendly. You can expect a wait anytime of the week with a winning combination like that. But what you can also expect is to have employees bump ahead of you to be seating making your wait even longer. Not too impressed with that side of "service".

After a weekend in Hastings on rice lake we were promised a fabulous meal at our friends local restaurant and we were not disappointed. They took us to the portly piper and we loved it, great food and drink in a family friendly atmosphere. Would recommend to everyone but don't take my advice just visit and I promise you will return. A hidden gem, this pub is as much of a fine restaurant as it is a pub; it is always reinventing its' menu and the current version is very eclectic with generous portions. Another bonus is your entree is free on your birthday, provided you can show photo Id.

Good food. Need to make sure things on special are in high supply though. Staff is usually pretty friendly. Can be hard to get a seat sometimes but thats usually not a bad thing. All and all i would say to try it. Wings especially????

Went there for family dinner and large group. They were friendly fast and accommodated us quickly! The food was very good - personally had the mixed grill and it was good.

A bustling bar which is a little loud...but it's a sports bar so you have to accept that...and which has the best wibgs in all of Toronto as far as I am concerned. Réservez une table maintenant

This place has really good food with a great selection of different types of food. Atmosphere is also great, Lots of tvs for watching sports etc.

We enjoy going once in a while. the food is good, and plentiful. The wait for a table can be an issue on some nights.
