We made a stop in Auburn during our drive from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe and were pleasantly surprised by this charming little mining town, rich in history, and home to a fantastic café. The coffee, breakfast sandwich, and avocado toast we tried were all outstanding. I really appreciated the layout of the café, which includes additional upstairs seating, a side yard, and a balcony, providing plenty of options. You order at the counter, and they bring your food to the table. The open-concept kitchen allows you to watch the food preparation, adding to the experience. The café has a lot of character, and I would definitely come back if I'm traveling along this route again in the future.
I had never heard of this place until I was in Auburn, yesterday. When the meeting I was in ended, my friend said they were going to grab a tea. She knew how much I loved coffee and suggest I join her. I 'm glad I did. I ordered a brown sugar cold brew and was blown away. The flavor profile the drink offered was wonderful. I grabbed a bag of beans (ironically called 'No Hands ' bland) to bring home. I just brewed a pot and WOW am I blown away. Well done, you guys! You 're on my list of places to visit when I 'm back in town. I will be back soon to get another cold brew from you while buying another bag of beans. Thank you!
Unique, small, high quality coffee/beer/wine water hole (with a small kitchen as well). They have a large selection of beer on draft, also beer in a can for the patio. The outdoor area gets some sun but also has a lot of shade as well. It’s perfect for dogs! We can speak for their coffee: it’s high quality. They support a local microroaster in Auburn area and the it’s all light roast (for those who care about high quality beans). This is THE pit stop on the way to or from Tahoe. Thank me later. This trendy and stylish place was quite busy for a Sunday afternoon. I was about third in line to place my order, which wasn’t too bad. The staff was very friendly, and there was a variety of interesting retail items available—perfect for small gifts or stocking stuffers. I ordered an iced caramel latte, but it seemed like the baristas were having a good chat with each other. If you're in a hurry, be prepared to wait about 25 minutes for your coffee order. An aesthetic and thoughtfully decorated cafe. There are two stories with indoor seating, a big patio and a small balcony. I came in on a Sunday evening and the service was slow and all the tables were dirty and nobody had bussed the dishes. However, I think this was due to a staff shortage as the team seemed to be scrambling to service everybody. Overall, the avocado toast and coffee I got were great!
Charming ambiance! I jokingly asked the staff member for her top recommendation if we were never going to return to the area. She suggested trying the espresso with one of their homemade syrups, and wow, we genuinely wish we lived nearby! The lavender syrup was fantastic, and the espresso was exceptional! There's a $20 coin that grants you permanent access to happy hour deals!
This place is incredible. Met the owners slinging beans at the Tahoe city farmers market and have been meaning to use it as a pit stop when driving up to the mountains...but after finally coming here it's going to be a must-stop! Amazing indoor and outdoor seating, creative drinks, it's fantastic.
