This location should, in theory, be 10/10 experience in my opinion.. Wonderful building.. Various parts to it, as in a nice main restaurant, with plenty of seating of varying styles.. A canal right next to it with narrow boats meandering past the location.. So why was our experience dissapointing .? Ok.. Service by staff was hit and miss.. And you can't say there wasn't enough staff on duty on a gorgeous Sunday lunchtime.. In main restaurant.. The marquee extension and seating outside, staff were plentiful.. But if you have staff just twiddling fingers and not watching customers, whether for food and drinks orders,or actually trying to pay the bill at the end of our time there.. Lost count o...

Six adults and two dogs on a boating holiday called in for lunch. We sat outside in the spacious garden with lovely canal views and a huge sun shade for those of us that wanted shade. The wines were great (I was immediately asked if I had a preference for region for sauvignon blanc and they had a lovely New Zealand Marlborough) and the guys said the Guinness was very well kept. The menu was very varied and even though there was a slight hiccup with one meal, it was immediately taken away and replaced without any fuss, plus we had an apology from the chef as we were leaving! Two people had the generously-sized wood fired pizzas and the reminder was boxed up for us to take back to the boat. My...
I haven’t been to this restaurant to eat in the restaurant part for a number of years. I have usually sat outside and had their quick lunch menu which I can’t fault . We came as a family after a celebration in Worcester. The dinner menu offers plenty but not much in the way of traditional meals. My elderly mother doesn’t like chilli or Asian food. She doesn’t like pizza. Apart from fish and chips there wasn’t really much for her to chose from. The portions are plentiful and the waitress was very polite and attentive. I just feel that it isn’t very accommodating for the more elderly with a more traditional palate. Plenty of seating and we wasn’t all crammed on the table.
After a nice sunny visit to hanbury hall, decided to go for a nice pub lunch. Looked into local pubs and queens head came up as one to try. Quaint Canal side with a good menu and welcoming staff. Alex showed us to an outside table next to canal. View not disappointing, ordered the local ale suggested by Alex. Food was well proportioned and Maddie came with a smile and was helpful in helping out clarifying a side order. Atmosphere was relaxing, food was flavoursome. Service was excellent. Maddie had time to ‘chat’ and we came away relaxed and happy. Would definitely come to this next time we’re in the area. Réservez une table maintenant
Good Sunday roast, efficient service, good atmosphere and reasonably priced as usual. My only comment was that the treacle tart was served with Greek yogurt (I hadn’t noticed when ordering). In my mind this is a definite ‘no no’, it spoilt the tart for me. I think it should have been served with custard, fresh cream or clotted cream.
We’ve been here a handful of times now. It’s situated half way between my family and some close friends. Consistent great food, selections of wine are always good, and the service is bang on.
We were sat in the marquee which is warm and beautiful. I had the crispy duck, poke bowl and treacle tart. Food was lovely. Staff were great.
Went for my birthday and the food was top drawer. Setting was beautiful too, can’t recommend this place enough to anyone in the area. Réservez une table maintenant
