Seldom write reviews on food but this one deserves special mention. We are a group of 11, with a few kids in tow. We were so impressed that we made a reservation for the next evening after our first dinner. Everything is great.Service was top, top notch. Thomas, the manager, is a great asset. Super friendly and great with recommendations. I'd hire him if I run a restaurant. Owner is very friendly and waitress was very obliging as well. Food was served promptly.The star of the show, though. was the food. Chili mussels was the best I've ever had. Pasta was great with portion large enough for 2. We had seafood pasta. A friend who had the squid ink risotto was full of praise as well. Not a singl...
Family from overseas wanted their last meal to be seafood given the amazing variety we get here in Australia. The platter was absolutely perfect! Just massive, beautifully done and they just loved it. The only thing that stops me giving 5 stars were that my sizzling prawn entree was rubbery, tasteless and oily, and the embarrassing situation of a relatively upmarket restaurant... you have to walk through a shopping centre and then outside in the cold, plus have a key, plus it isn't signed so you need directions - just to go to the bathroom! Service, ambience, everything else was wonderful... thank you so much for a great evening.
Ordered the $80 platter for two, an upmarket seafood basket. Plenty of food for two and very enjoyable. The scallops were excellent, but then these are my favourite seafood. All the other seafood was very good, except the grilled fish, which I thought was also excellent. The mountain of chips was over the top for us and would have happily traded half the chips for more salad, but that is the only criticism. My wife, being Thai, would have loved a nam jim for her seafood. If you could add a nam jim to the sauce list then I think you could win many Thai customers. Thank you and will happily recommend you to my friends.
The seafood plater seemed to be the most popular dish as it named "Red Cray" restaurant. We ordered the seafood plater and it looked very impressive with two halves bugs, bread crumb prawns, seared scallops, battered fish, grilled calamari, grilled fish, chilli mussels and great portion of chips. The bugs , scallops and battered fish were quite tasty but the chili mussels, chips and calamari were not good at all. I had a great experience at IGA supermarket. Upon entering, I was greeted by a lovely lady in the flowers section who helped me with selecting flowers for my mother's passing. She was very kind and helpful, and I can't thank her enough for her assistance. The bouquet I purchased was extremely beautiful. IGA deserves all the praise for having everything on hand. Thank you for being so local and providing such a wonderful experience.
3rd visit, this time slightly smaller group, not quite as busy as previous visits, we shared several entrees including the lobster risotto, for mains we shared several mid week specials, grilled fish & chips with veg & fried fish & chips with salad, service was excellent as was the value !
