Met up with friends for some supper after work. What a lovely pub and garden! Recently reopened after a major refurbishment to a high standard, the pub garden is welcoming with lots of tables and lights, with heated booths across the lawn. Really good menu that has a good selection of favourites at reasonable prices. We had the pie and mash, a beef and ale and a mushroom, both really nice. My gluten free friend ordered the burger without the bun. All freshly cooked. We did have to wait but any food that arrived too quickly has probably visited a microwave! The new landlady made us feel very welcome. Monday night is quiz night but sitting outside, we were still able to chat. I look forward to...
First impressions, pub has been very nicely done indoors and outdoors. Staff very friendly. Sadly food was very poor Chicken extremely overcooked and dry, no onion rings as stated on menu. Pie and mash potatoes with broccoli the mash was very gloopy and hard to eat, possibly out of a packet and broccoli was tasteless, we think it was frozen. It just didn’t look appealing at all and not worth the money. We decided not to have dessert as poor selection but also didn’t want another disappointment. Such a shame when place looks so lovely. I would only recommend to go for a drink.
Great pub with friendly staff and a great selection of drinks available. Beautiful beer garden which has lights and heating so can still be used at night. I am in this pub regularly and the food is always up to a very good standard, would highly recommend the chicken katsu curry and the fish and chips! They are always cooked to perfection and generous portions aswell. The food and drink here is a great deal for money and the staff have always ensured that every visit was a pleasant one!
I never felt so unwelcome in a place like this before... despite of a reasonable food, when I was ordering my food, I felt a xenophobic environment where some costumers made some not very nice comments to us. Now a days this cannot happen! It's a shame and can hurt this pub reputation! I also saw the a bar staff having a conversation saying that why the costumers bring their children into this pub. If this doesn't change more reviews like this one will happen! Thank you

Visited The Red Lion on Saturday lunch time for a meal with my family which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Great food selection and a wide range of both alcoholic and soft drinks to cater for all (particularly my fussy family! Service was spectacular young girl behind the bar was superb doing a fantastic job no request was too much for her a credit to the pub! Overall pleasant experience will definitely be coming back!
This is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere. They have made a real effort with the outdoor space. The staff are helpful. My friend ordered tacos. I ordered a jacket potato. My friend’s food came quite a while ahead of mine. When mine came it was tepid bordering stone cold. No one came to ask if everything was ok. Such a shame.
Lovely pub, welcoming staff, plenty of parking. The outside area is fantastic, and it would be great to sit out there in the summer. Had a curry, and my friend had a salad. Was a lovely meal, will definitely go again and try some of the other dishes. Nice and open inside the pub too.

Great place for a pint. I come regularly for a drink and to do the Monday night quiz. Great atmosphere, good staff.
