The Red Lion Inn - Réservation de table

Our reserved table was by the fire but was too warm for us on a warm October day but the friendly staff found us another place even though it was busy. The menu was limited at lunch time but we chose two courses and the food was excellent. Our starter was a Waldorf salad with a local cheese which had been grilled like a creme brulee. It was delicious. Mains were scampi and burger both with triple cooked chips. These were all homemade and very good.

I called to let them know we would be late due to a road closure, and the friendly woman assured me that our table would be saved. Despite being two hours behind schedule, the kitchen staff kindly prepared a plate of tasty toast for us when they should have been closing up. A huge thank you to them - we will definitely be returning!

A very pleasant family dinner with good menu, excellent food and service to fit. The atmosphere of the Red Lion is so beautiful a real pub with food instead of a food driven pub. An additional attraction is the selection of beers from their own microbrewery. Food portions were generous and excellent value for money. Be back soon..

Took 20min to take order after being seated, not even served any drinks. Then when went to order most of the starters were sold out and some of the mains. Good food but overall value was poor. Shame really as good menu, great beer and good atmosphere. Just let down by poor service and value. Réservez une table maintenant

Have visited the Red Lion before but have eaten in the bar, this time was in the restaurant which was good, slightly disappointed the roast beef was only two slices, saving grace was the excellent veg it was sitting on. Pudding was very good and well presented.

We had a nice meal at the restaurant. Unfortunately, two people ended up with upset stomachs later that night. Both of them had Scotch egg starters. It's uncertain whether this was just an unfortunate accident or if it was caused by the food.

Really interesting menu. Great food and friendly service. The decoration could do with a makeover. Very ordinary too bright lighting didn't match the level of food. Really busy pub bar with lots of life and atmosphere.

Delicious Sunday Lunch, enormous Yorkshire pudding and just the best red wine to compliment the beef.
