Oh my gosh. So refreshing to find a real pub. The warm welcome on arrival to the goodbye. Everything was amazing. Service, food and the wonderful atmosphere makes this a must do. The pub itself is set on a small winding river in the heart of the beautiful Dorset town of Wimborne. This is a very traditional pub that takes me back to my childhood with great memories. The atmosphere was wonderful when we arrived with lots of locals enjoying fine fair. So the food just amazing remembering this is a pub but providing high quality well cooked food from around the world. We had wonderful pink roast beef. You can have it other ways. Spacious riverside pub, good menu and service. Popular with dog owners. Small Sunday Roast was big and good value for money The big roast must be massive. They sell real ale and anything else you could desire. More of a food pub rather than a locals pub with live music on Saturdays. Had a great couple of days in Wimbourne and this was one of our favourite pubs. James his wife and staff are very friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely Sunday lunch overlooking the river washed down with a couple of well kept beers too. The Riding Sun has quickly become my favourite pub in Wimborne. It’s cosy, always busy, nice decor, friendly staff, great bands and today we decided to eat for the first time. We ordered the loaded fries to share from the specials board. Just what we needed and delicious with plenty of topping and a good portion!
