We always visit The Rocket whenever we are in London on holiday,It is the perfect place for some pub grub after a busy day exploring London.It is typical Wetherspoons fare so nothing too adventurous but enough choice and definitely filling.I had the fish and chips and it was possibly the biggest piece of fish I had ever had with a fish and chip meal!No complaints on portion sizes at all. The only disappointment was that most of the draught lagers were off that night however that fact was well notified before we sat down so no unexpected surprises when we came to order food and drinks. I’ve been to the Rocket many times and it’s been fine. It has a spectacular setting by the Thames and serves typical Wetherspoons fayre. My experience today was very disappointing, not only have the prices risen , my go to dish of tuna potato salad no longer on the menu, today my food took ages to arrive. I was with my partner and we ordered together. His meal arrived fairly promptly with an apology that mine would take a few minutes more it was only a burger) 15 minutes later I went to see where it was and was told it would be 2 more minutes. I am here to show my anger not to the staff but to the management of putney wetherspoon. I live next to THE ROCKET, I'm there every weekend, but I'm seriously thinking about changing my habit. Few employees, last time there were 4(Polite, friendly, attentive, but not happy with the situation) to serve all the customers(last weekend the waiting time for drinks to arrive at the table was 23min), overcooked food, often with burnt crusts. last weekend they weren't serving any meat due to lack of employees... I know most of them and can assess the situation as I have talked to some of them. Só, PLEASE, take care of your employees so that this is reflected in your customers!!!!!
Should definitely have checked Trip Advisor before stepping in here! It was so bad, we left before ordering a meal. No host or hostess; difficult to find a table (on our own) because of how full it was; no waitress or waiter; and a fight breaks out between a few patrons! This was on a Sunday in May; maybe it had something to do with most of the patrons being supporters of a football team not from London!? (That’s how it appeared). Worst Wetherspoons in London. Food cold , staff careless. I complained and was told the manager would come dea with me- waited 30 minutes and no one came. After 45 mins a member of staff came over and told us the manager was busy. I'm local and the place is run by clueless people. Avoid it is my advice.
