We stopped by for a meal on our way home from Stratford upon Avon. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The food was decent but has room for improvement. I ordered sausage and mash, which was fine, but the mash could have been served hotter, and the gravy was a bit too watery. One of the sausages was also slightly overcooked and a bit crunchy. It’s a nice place overall, but there are definitely a few areas that could use some enhancement. Oh, and I would recommend using fresh vegetables instead of frozen peas. Price per person: £10–20.
We made a reservation and were quickly seated at our table, which started our experience positively. However, after 15 minutes, there was still no interaction from the waitstaff. My wife had to flag someone down, and the poor server looked quite nervous. Once that was addressed, though, everything improved significantly. The food was absolutely incredible—truly some of the best we've ever had. I would definitely rate the food a perfect 10 out of 10. Overall ratings: Food: 5, Service: 2, Atmosphere: 4.
The atmosphere wasn’t very inviting, although I wouldn't entirely blame the pub for that since it was quite quiet during our visit. We only interacted with one staff member, who wasn’t particularly welcoming or cheerful. It felt a bit disorganized when it came to asking for menus and placing our orders. Overall, we were disappointed and definitely see room for improvement.
The Roebuck recently hosted a Celebration of Life for a family member. The food was exceptional and the service and atmosphere they create was warm and personal.
