Called in for a spot of lunch after a walk. Very pleasant lady served us. Good selection of food and drinks. Food was well prepared and presented. If going by car parking is limited . The only slight negative is I had to pick up someone else's dog poo. So, to my fellow dog owners, please clean up after your dog. I just had to share our experience we had out last evening. We have to say a big thank you to Louisa who was amazing. We could tell she was under a lot of pressure but still Kept her professionalism. The young man that was out in front with her was just as good. Perhaps there should be more than one person serving, we were patient but some people might have complained. After hearing about the great reviews for the Royal Oak, I decided to visit for the first time in years. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious meal I had, including a steak, homemade lasagne, and ham, egg, and chips. All three dishes were impressive and my group was satisfied with both the service and the food. I will definitely be coming back soon and would highly recommend this restaurant.
I visited the pub today with a friend for the first time. we found the royal oak to have a friendly service. we ordered to eat and I had a tasteful fish finger sandwich that came with fries and a plentiful amount of garnish. we enjoyed the warmth of the real fire place that had a good size fire protection. Thank you. the royal oak!

What a find on a Friday. Naturally had to try their fish and chips. Lovely. Good atmosphere, great service and cozy too. Very happy. Would highly recommend.
