We were at the pub on a Thursday night which is steak night. For a bargain $18- on Thursdays, you get a fabulous porterhouse steak plus chips and coleslaw. Fantastic value and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and obliging and were very efficient at taking orders and delivering the meals. Make sure you book though as it is a popular spot even though it is tucked away in the back streets of RIchmond. Other nights have different themes - eg Wed is Burgers and Trivia. The only criticism is that the restaurant is a bit noisy - some posters or sound baffling on the walls would make a big difference
Since the new owners have taken over earlier this year, the venue has retained its feel of being your home away from home dining room...but with a slightly improved menu but amazing food quality!Still one of the original craft beer venues in Melbourne and it shows, you will often be rubbing shoulders with the brewers from Mountain Goat who've wandered across the road to try a new beer on tap, or the Exit, or Moon Dog crew to name but a few of the craft brewers who frequent the venue...
This little place packed a punch with both beverage & food. Old style with lots of timber and a cool main bar. We were here when the beer menu was all about Western Oz beer. Great selection and we sampled many :)We also stayed for dinner which turned out to be an absolute treat for the taste buds. After scoffing at the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls we had to find out for our selves, they were what they said they were :)All in all a nice night with very pleasant service with personality...
Our first time here, on a friend's recommendation. Cosy, post-industrial decor, an excellent selection of craft beers. Our meals were above usual pub grub standard- gnocchi Gorgonzola with crispy prosciutto, Philly cheese burger and chips( huge and delicious). Service both behind the bar and in food serving friendly and extremely efficient. Nice clientele, great ambience- a really lovely Melbourne experience. We will be back again next time in Melbourne.!!!

What a great treat to find the menu varied, suitable for many diet choices, and very reasonably priced. Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed all meals ordered. Steaks were cooked exactly as requested. The offering of specialty beer was also impressive. The young lady serving our group was knowledgeable, charming and professional.
I found the Hotel under the Age cheap eats and so glad we did. Very retro pub with great food. Korean chicken wings yes please were very very nice yet i must say the Chicken Parma was one of the best we have had. The Hotel is tucked away in Richmond. Worth the visit people. We will be back :)
A pub that has all the warmth and friendliness like a local pub should be. The service was relaxed yet efficient and the food amazing. It is somewhere you could go with friends or just pop in for a casual pub meal. My partner likes craft beers so he was happy. I like good food so I was happy.
Entering The Royston you return to a bygone era (perhaps 50's-60's) in decor and friendliness of patron and staff alike. The craft beer selection was great, and a comfortable, quiet and casual environ removing you from hustle and bustle. Good food such as the Philly Cheesesteak.

Standard food but solid local pub for the area. Great Wednesday night trivia but book ahead to reserve a table and get there early to order your food, otherwise it can be a 1 hour+ wait with everyone ordering at the same time.
