was told about this weed by a friend, so one went out from south belfast. I wasn't disappointed. that was waiting 10-15 minutes after ordering, happy enough with that, as they know that the dings are freshly cooked, portions were larger than most takeaway places of the fish on both Cod fruits was perfectly cooked and was without doubt the thickest fish I ever had. good charge of chips in the box, which were also cooked for perfection. in all honesty, I really enjoyed eating until the woes have nothing to wake up. the menu had a diverse selection of seafood as well as all traditional chippy items, so that I will visit the next time, and I will visit again, need to try something, not always se...
I have to share how much we loved our fish and chips at the Ruddy Duck yesterday. My husband had the smoked fish, while I ordered hake with chips. The fish was freshly coated in a light and crispy batter, and the chips were absolutely delicious. The batter was perfect and the fish was succulent, while the chips were some of the best I've had in a long time. Other fish and chip shops should strive to meet the standard set by the Ruddy Duck. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who patiently explained the menu to some customers during their lunch. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back soon.
Checked the online menu before ordering. Pictures of menu boards on Ruddy Duck web page. Two Chicken burgers at £4.95 each became £14 at the till! “Oh, that must be out of date” he said and asks his friend…”Do we have a web site”? So 40% higher than on line. Went to Dirty Duck/Ruddy Duck website to message them…they don’t appear to have an email address. They do a good Chicken Fillet burger but the promised few extra chips when ordering by phone not included. Disappointing.
Food was good , sat in , 10% charge for sitting in that was ok , cheese burger on its own and curry chip £12.80 no drinks , you do not know the price till you leave , if the owners are reading this you need to say how much the meal costs when we order, we will come back once more because the food was good but sort the till out otherwise we will not be back.

This fabulous fish and chip shop has got to have not only the best fish and chips in Northern Ireland, but the best staff . They are so friendly and upbeat and nothing is too much bother We travel from Portmuck just for this all round experience every week if possible 10 stars you legends
My First ever visit and simply Whoa . how did i never know about this Fab fish and chip cafe Cod and chips so fresh real home cooked chips and Les,s fish bap was GINORMOUS and so good Staff really nice even though the Que was 5 miles long to get in . definitely gona be a weekend treat here
Awful Carryout Service is terrible Long wait 1/2 an hour for two items? and not the usual high standard of food. Have the original crew left? It would be sad to see this long established food outlet go the same way as others in Holywood for the want of properly trained service staff.
Absolutely terrible surely they must know that their chips are not cooked correctly chips are greasy and soggy and do not have that typical chip shop flavor. Something going badly wrong here. It is also quite expensive, which is doubly disappointing.

Wow! I had the chicken burger and "huge" doesn't even begin to describe it. It was absolutely amazing and had everything I could have ever wanted in a burger.
What a fantastic place! I have never had a bad meal here, the fish is always so fresh. I recently tried the Hek juicer and it was unbeatable.
