It 's a decent place to eat. Standard 'Mexican ' food, not traditional. The white queso Iguana Dip is really good. The service is good and the people are really nice! We have been dining at Salty Iguana more often lately, so I think that 's a good sign. Margaritas and craft beer from the full bar are available and quite good. There are other places in the area that I like better, but once again, being close to our house wins. The only strangeness is the salsa. There 's a mild tomato salsa that 's served with really good chips by default. There 's also a really blazing hot peppers salsa that 's available by request. My favorite is to mix them together. The food at this restaurant was delicious, with a healthy selection of options to choose from. I had an appetizer for lunch, the street tacos were reasonably priced and quite tasty. I recommend trying some of their house salsa with it. Our group shared a pitcher of margaritas, which was good but a bit mild. The nachos they offer as an appetizer are huge and look like they could feed two people for dinner. The service was good, with staff checking in on us multiple times. The walls in the restaurant were hand-painted and added to the unique atmosphere. Overall, a great dining experience with fantastic food and ambiance.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. This place is a Trainwreck. The tables were dirty and stayed that way through most of our meal. The service was terse and rude. Our food was obviously microwaved and very bland. Save your money and enjoy the multitude of much better restaurants in Lawrence.
the first time there on Wednesday night for a party of seven. had the iggy hot pot. it was excellent in a cool night. a bark meat, huh and garnel in a thick broth. a toughness, but that's the one away from it. our waitress was great and we didn't have to wait for something.

first, as each Mexican restaurant is first judged by the chips and salsa, this was excellent. flavorful salsa with a good tomato taste and large chips. the midday specialties were beautiful and the unique 'iguana' decoration was funny.
The Salty Iguana in Lawrence has delicious food and Margaritas. The Manager, Alex, provided great service, and accommodated our group of friends for a leisurely lunch visit by seating us in a quiet part of the restaurant.
The food was tasty. The chips were very thin, like Lays regular potatoe chip.The server was nice. The small lunch crowd was in one small area. I felt like I was shoved into a cattle pin.
Went to the bar area for a drink. The only Hard Eddy 's available was 'sweet tea ', and we wanted lime and lemon. The chips, salsa, and salty iguana cheese dip were tasty.
